Angela James is respected scholar and ardent community organizer/activist with Black Lives Matter-LA, United Way’s ‘Everyone In’ Housing Campaign, Students Deserve, Committee for Racial Justice, and numerous other social justice organizations in the Los Angeles area and beyond. She is co-author, along with Donna L. Franklin, of the newly revised paperback edition of Ensuring Inequality: Structural Transformations of the African American Family, Oxford University Press. 2015. She has also written pieces for the Huffington Post, LA Progressive and the Sociological Society Pages. Dr. James has devoted her academic life to studying inequality and her personal life to working to eradicate it.
